I am currently testing the latest version of AVG Free Antivirus software. So far so good. If history is any guide, Grisoft, the makers of AVG, will soon end support for 8.0 and then 8.5 shortly after that. So even if you don't upgade to 9.0 today, you'll need to seriously consider it within 6 months.
